Eco-Friendly Parks Creation
Students of grade 5, collaborated with their partners and framed a 100-square grid using a thread and a cardboard box. Underneath the grid, they meticulously divided each square into designated areas like ponds, playgrounds, grass, flowerbeds and trees, each assigned a specific percentage. The engaging activity involved calculating the percentage of squares needed for the park, grass, trees, playground and flowerbeds. This hands-on approach not only sparked enjoyment among students but also facilitated a profound comprehension of mathematical concepts, including ratio, proportion and percentage.
